Bea’s Backyard

Sept - Nov 2024, Art Alive! Series

Client: National Gallery Singapore

Bea is a bright young girl who loves creating art and sculptures, and her favourite thing to do is to let her imagination run wild! Sometimes her friends in school laugh at her because they don’t know what she’s creating. They tell her that a tree can’t have two trunks, and a flower can only be flower-shaped. But Bea thinks that art can be anything you want it to be. Everything in this world inspires her, from the tallest of trees to the tiniest of mushrooms, and every piece of art she makes holds magic and tells a story.

Bea’s dream is to run her very own exhibition in her backyard, and to feature as many of her friends’ artworks as possible! Today, she is inviting all of her friends to put on their thinking caps - if wind could take on a physical form, what would it look like? If trees could communicate, what would they say? Are all raindrops shaped the same? Come play with Bea and discover the different elements of nature around us, and explore how we can use our bodies and everyday materials to create art.
